Do you want to engage with young people and their development in the middle of life? At Riksgymnasiet, young people with mobility impairments are given the opportunity to grow, develop, and prepare for an independent adult life based on their own conditions. For students with long commutes, Riksgymnasiet offers a student residence run by the non-profit foundation Bräcke Diakoni. We are now looking for you who want to work as a substitute at the student residence during the autumn term of 2026.

Your role

In the role of habilitation assistant, you will become part of a dedicated work group, where many have long experience and a big heart for the target group. You support the young people in their daily lives so that they have a positive, content-rich, and developmental high school experience.

The role includes, among other things:

• Helping with care and daily routines
• Supporting the young people in taking care of their health and well-being
• Being a social support and a safe conversation partner
• Contributing to small and large moments – from daily routines to preparations for the student ball and future dreams

We offer two part-time substitute positions during the autumn term of 2026, with the possibility of extension until June 2027. You who wish can also apply for hourly substitute work, based on the needs of the operation and your availability. Regardless of employment form, you will become an important part of the young people's daily life and support them in practical and social aspects.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who want to work closely with young people and who can meet their needs with calmness, sensitivity, and respect. You want to contribute to their development towards an independent adult life and believe in young people's ability to grow when given the right conditions. Since the young people need support in most moments of daily life, you need to be able to meet both social and physical needs.

Qualifications:

• Education at least at the upper secondary level, preferably within care and nursing, child and youth care, pedagogy, or social work
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in human-centric work, preferably within care
• Experience in meeting people with autism spectrum disorder/ND (Neurodevelopmental Disorders)

Advantageous:

• Knowledge and experience of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), as well as low-arousal approach

Riksgymnasiet Student Residence

Riksgymnasiet consists of three parts: high school, student residence, and habilitation.

The student residence is located in Storås Ängar, Angered, close to nature and within walking distance to the center and school. Our mission is to create conditions for the young people to succeed in school and at the same time have an active, fun, and developmental free time during their high school years. At the student residence, young people receive support from habilitation assistants around the clock: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Together we support them in taking responsibility for themselves, their free time, and their living environment.
